Laurie Barokas and Nancy Cirillo strut their sporty spring line of workout clothes

Sometimes our most intense workout is sprinting from the gym to the car to avoid being seen in our ratty exercise gear. Luckily for us (and witnesses), Eastside residents Laurie Barokas and Nancy Cirillo solved the gym-to-streetwear conundrum in the fall of 2008 when they created NaLa (nalaseattle.com), a line of comfy, chic workout clothes with a stylish, spirited twist. Barokas and Cirillo—self-professed gym rats, apparel lovers (Barokas is a former apparel buyer) and busy moms—have detailed the garments in their first spring line with flirty, feminine touches. Long zip-up hoodies ($98), workout tanks with fun twisted-fabric straps and sexy draped fronts ($58) and fitted running dresses with built-in support bras ($78), paired with capri leggings ($78), all come in earth-happy recycled poly or organic cotton fabrics—so the garments are as much about performance as they are about fashion. Available at Finch & Sparrow and David Barton Gym The Bravern in Bellevue, 11111 NE Eighth St., Suite 20 425.453.7887 davidbartongym.com
