Seattle's first flying trapeze school takes students to great heights

Georgetown’s School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts (SANCA) has one more reason for you to run away and join it: a big top tent—constructed over the summer and rising nearly three stories high—that houses the new School of Flight. The only trapeze training facility in the Northwest, the space features two trapezes and a platform 23 feet above the floor. The school offers two-hour classes to groups of as many as 10 people, covering beginning knee hangs and progressing to more advanced tricks. For all you Sex and the City fans recalling Carrie Bradshaw’s attempts to fly through the air (which weren’t exactly executed with the greatest of ease), never fear—there’s a big safety net waiting to catch you. Contact SANCA for the flying trapeze class schedule. SANCA, 674 S Orcas St., Georgetown; 206.652.4433; sancaseattle.org
