Ken Myer made the WTIA a hub for the tech community

Ken Myer [ CEO, Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA) ]

The Washington Software Association was already an important trade group in 2006 when Myer took over as CEO. But he’s made the organization a hub for the tech community, broadening the charter of the organization and changing its name to the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA) to reflect its emerging identity as a broad-based technology trade group with members in such diverse sectors as medical devices, clean tech and advanced manufacturing. He formed a strategic relationship with the Shenzhen Software Industries Association in China, and recently negotiated a deal to make WTIA the state representative for TechAmerica, a national technology trade organization. The group’s calendar is filled with meetings and events for top executives—and the rank and file. In September he launched wtiajobs.org, a site to connect job seekers with Washington tech companies in search of talent.
