In 2008, Seattle magazine named Shelton a Spotlight Award winner because we suspected she was on her way to accomplishing amazing feats in film—but we had no idea her path would soar so high, so quickly. Since then, her most recent film, Humpday (which she wrote and directed), premiered at Sundance, received a standing ovation at Cannes and was picked up by Magnolia Pictures for national distribution. We eagerly await her next feature, on which she’s working with another star of the local art scene, Sherman Alexie.
