The Essence of a Woman

At a time when even your underwear is no longer recognizable as your own, a girl needs a little glamour in her life.  Something that makes the impossible seem possible like gaining 38 lbs and feeling more beautiful than I have ever felt. Enter Sara Tro. Her tagline sums it up: "Life is beautiful...get proof." We turned to Sara when we knew the final month arrived and this changing body was a miracle that needed to be documented.

Sara's ability to capture the essence of being of a woman is undeniable. The photo I included above says it all and is only one of many that  captured the feelings I am experiencing as a woman who is proud of her body and its accomplishments. I hope to pass along this strength to my own daughter -- and what better way than for her to be able to see such beautiful photos of me with her in my womb?

Sara is kind, sincere, talented and smart. Smart in the way that she is offering any of you a $50 discount when you mention my blog.  So, reach out to her at saratrophoto@gmail.com or subtly pass this along to your other half to set it up for you.  It could apply to her boudoir shots for women who are not pregnant, but looking for the perfect Valentine's gift, or, of course, for the expecting Mom.

Now that my pregnancy is nearing its end, I have become the very source that I was searching for when I saw the plus sign on the test.  Friends and strangers are asking my advice on the details of pregnancy, amazing how quickly the tables turn. So here is my advice for the day: document this time in your life. It may never be here again and for those days when your daughter is having her first child and complaining (as I have so many times) about the weight gain and discomfort, you can show her these images, smile together and realize the beauty of life.

A new chapter began in Leigh Canlis' life in May of 2009, when she became pregnant with her first child. Follow her blog as she documents the sometimes hilarious, and other times trying, moments of pregnancy and the thoughts of how to handle it all as a working fashionista Mom-to-be

Today, my little girl is one week old. Our third child after two boys, a girl is certainly a blessing. Not knowing the sex of our child but knowing that it will probably be our last, I also did a pregnancy photo shoot. So glad I had this opportunity and even more so that I can share this with my daughter who may appreciate it more than my sons would have. This is a beautiful photo and so different than any I have seen. Good luck with your labor and birth. It is a beautiful thing and a wond
