The Henry's Fall Open House Tonight

A few months ago I snuck a peek at Sawdust Mountain, local photographer Eirik Johnson's new book, from arts editor Brangien Davis' desk. As a native Washingtonian who has spent a lot of time in rural pockets of the state, Johnson's images--which focused on the communities and landscapes of old logging towns--struck a particularly strong chord with me. Logs, mountains, abandoned trucks, burly mountain men and cute grandmothers all make an appearance in this ode to the Pacific Northwest and the people who are influencing the area's natural environment.
