Learn to mix cocktails like a master at the Sorrento Hotel's Drinking Lessons
Hey, cocktail lovers–your dream has come true; here's your chance to learn from mixology legends while they mix, lecture and pour for you at the Sorrento Hotel's Hunt Club

Mix a man a drink and he drinks for a day. Teach a man how to mix a drink and he drinks for a lifetime! Imagine the country's top bartenders and distillers teaching you how to mix a drink. It's not just a dream, it's actually happening at the Sorrento Hotel as part of their Night School program, where they examine the "new American cocktail" twice each month. Each date, a different celebrity bartender will treat the small audience to an animated two-hour lesson in the preparation and history of three distinct liquid concoctions. And these liquor legends are the cream of the crop, including locals Murray Stenson (Zig Zag Cafe), Jamie Boudreau (Tini Bigs), and Kathy Casey (Dish D'Lish and more) and many others (Ryan Magarian, Alex Day, Toby Cecchini, Christian Krogstad, Jeffrey Morganthaler, Erik Hakkinen, and Lucy Brennan). Chef Matthew Mina will add a few small bites from the Hunt Club kitchen to keep the stomach growling at bay. Be sure to sign-up fast–sessions are limited to twelve people. Aug 18: Ryan Magarian; Aug 24: Murray Stenson; other dates TBA. 5:30 & 8:00 pm. $50 (+ $10 for the quarterly Drinking Lesson recipe chapbook.) Sorrento Hotel Hunt Club, 900 Madison Street, First Hill. For reservations email: nightschool@hotelsorrento.com
