If you’re one of the few who missed the first Mobile Chowdown last fall, here’s your chance to mend your mistake (full disclosure, Seattle magazine is a proud co-sponsor, along with Suzuki+Chou Communimedia and The Freehold Group). Hosted at a parking lot in Interbay, where big development is in store (see the plans at thefreeholdgroup.com and click on “Interbay”), Chowdown features the best trucks from the hot mobile eats scene including: Here and There Grill, Gert's BBQ, Veraci Pizza, Marination Mobile, Anita's Crepes, Kaosamai Thai, El Camion, Top Pot Doughnuts and Dante's Inferno Dogs. Jones Soda will be on-hand with drinks or head to the Seattle mag booth for free bottled water (and magazines!). Expect the same tasty benefits, shorter lines (we hope!) and even better: port-a-potties. 1/9, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Free. Interbay, 1616 Bertona. For details, visit seattlemag.com

With so many options for gourmet street eats, the Mobile Chowdown allows foodies to do the near impossible: sample the best of Seattle street food all at once. (It's them against your appetite. Bring it, they'll feed it.)

VENDORS:
Marination Mobile (voted #1 steet food vendor in the country by Good Morning America!), Here and There Grill, Gert's BBQ, Veraci Pizza, Anita's Crepes, Kaosamai Thai, El Camion, Top Pot Doughnuts, Dante's Inferno Dogs and Jones Soda.

WHEN: Saturday, January 9 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

WHERE:
In Interbay at 1616 W Bertona (the empty lot across from Denali gym)

Hey guys, you'll be happy to know that we're listening to your feedback. Tomorrow's Chowdown will have a few new things that should make this event run much smoother including: port-a-potties, free water and people on-hand to help organize lines. Of course, as zeebleoop points out, the Chowdown is NOT a fine dining experience. We are hoping a few small changes (tables, beverages, etc.) will make it easier for people to sample the city's street eats, however. See you all tomorrow!

A non-existent eating area is the LEAST of my complaints about the last Mobile Chowdown. Thanks for choosing to respond to that. And no, I wasn't expecting tables and waiters. If the purpose of the Chowdown is to get the vendors exposure by having people try out their food, then they failed because no one got to eat anything.

@jinushaun uh, it's street food not a sit down restaurant. why are you complaining about a non-existant eating area? the entire lot and surrounding streets were the eating area. what were you expecting; your own table and wait staff?

I seriously hope it's organised A LOT better this time. The last Mobile Chowdown was an absolute worthless cluster. No designated queues, one trailer per vendor, one cook and one server per trailer, nearly non-existent eating area, etc. The event was not designed to handle even a few dozen people--let alone the thousands that showed up. How many people were they expecting to show up? For their sake, I hope it is fixed this time around.
