Fire at Hooverville

Sad news everyone. A fire broke out this morning at Hooverville, the loveable and always fun dive bar down the street from Seattle mag's new SoDo location. Emergency workers contained the blaze within a half hour, but the fire caused quite a bit of damage in the bar's mezzanine-level, the Seattle P-I reports. Investigators have already ruled the fire an accident.

Hooverville's Yelp page listed the bar as "CLOSED" as of 5:15 p.m. this afternoon. Too bad (if this is true). Our little strip of First Avenue South will be much quieter (and a lot less fun) without our neighbors to the south.
