The Northwest’s own Imogen Cunningham opened the door for daring and innovative women photographers to come. The 60 images in this exhibition are drawn exclusively from SAM’s permanent collection—from portraits of Alfred Stieglitz, Frida Kahlo and other important artists of her time to her groundbreaking image of her naked husband on Mount Rainier, Cunningham claimed what only the big boys had heretofore been allowed to portray.
