Overton Berry

Thursday, February 18
While the career of jazz pianist Overton Berry has taken him to, among other faraway places, Tokyo, Cairo and Bangkok, he is commonly and appropriately regarded as a local institution. Over the course of a career spanning more than 50 years, he has taken the stage at numerous local venues and festivals, and even served as music director for the Peggy Lee concert at the Seattle World’s Fair in 1962. Now, thanks to the city’s free Concerts at City Hall series, you can hear him in all his glory while munching on your ham-and-cheese sandwich.

Noon. Free. Seattle City Hall, 600 Fourth Ave.; seattle.gov/seattlepresents
