Falstaff
Saturday, Feburary 27 - Saturday, March 13
Shakespeare’s corpulent, cowardly knight takes center stage in Giuseppe Verdi’s operatic take on The Merry Wives of Windsor (played by Peter Rose in the Seattle Opera’s version). The composer’s last opera, Falstaff combines brilliant orchestration with revenge plots, disguises, mistaken identities and a screwball wedding, resulting in a fast-paced, farcical comedy that is both amusing to watch and a joy to hear.
