Venture away from the usual downtown and Capitol Hill performances and head to the Central District for a dose of serious storytelling at the historic Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center. Written by local playwright La’Chris Jordan, this play explores the effects that nearby race riots have on the small town of Piney Ridge, Virginia. The plot thickens when a white girl from a neighboring town is attacked, forcing the white and black communities of Piney Ridge to deal with the emotional fallout and tension.
