Melody Biringer’s New Book Satisfies Our Cravings

Need to satisfy a craving? Whether it’s for a buttercream-slathered cupcake, a sassy haircut, or a relaxing locale to get sugared, Melody Biringer’s new book, CRAVE Seattle: The Urban Girl’s Manifesto, will point you in the right direction. (For those of you out-of-the- loop with hair removal trends these days, getting sugared is all the rage. Visit Swoon Boutique Spa or The Sweet Spot for this delicious alternative to waxing!)

Flipping through the nearly 300 pages of local spas, restaurants, boutiques, and more, it’s clear that a lot of thought and time went into the making of CRAVE’S third edition. For instance, I would never have known about Girl About Town, a Seattle company that hosts Girl Power Hours for local businesswomen looking to network.

The same goes for Fleurish, a high-end floral boutique, or Recipe Runway, a website that offers the tools to preserve all of Grandma’s homemade recipes online. Even if you think you’re a Seattle guru, there’s no way you won’t get some fresh ideas of places to try and things to do from this book. Not only that, but you’ll learn about many of the city’s stores and companies that promote green, sustainable, and/or organic living.

Ultimately, authoress Melody Biringer and her team of adventurous urban women have scoured Seattle for the very best of anything a girl could crave, resulting in a diverse, witty, and oh-so-informative compilation. Crave on, ladies, crave on!
