Sassoon Salon opens its doors this weekend in a soft launch aimed at wooing the city's Valentine’s Day crowd. Appointments are already being snapped up, but to help entice potential clients, Sassoon will give free gift packs of Davine’s Love smoothing shampoo and conditioner ($40 value) with any service on Saturday.

The Seattle Sassoon location (1405 5th Ave.) is the first to open in the Pacific Northwest and only the 13th in the nation. Stylists have been flown in from around the country to staff this 3,400-square-foot minimalist space located on Downtown’s swank 5th Avenue, near Betsy Johnson.

I had a look at the new space last night and was impressed by the very sleek design (think: minimalist, stainless steel and lots of white) of the salon. The management team was friendly and eager to
discuss the salon's new services. They also seemed quite aware of the economy and were sure to mention that the salon would be giving coupons to new clients to use for future visits.

Sassoon is known for offering technically precise and pricey cuts ($85 and up). I look forward to spotting the sleek new Sasoon dos sure to be adorned by Seattleites in the coming months. Stop by Sassoon Tuesday, Feb. 17 to take part in the official grand opening.
