2014 Winter Olympics: Cheer on our Washington State Olympians
Opening Ceremonies for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games begin tomorrow, February 7, at 7:30 p.m. EST (on tape delay). And while NBC will be live-streaming all sporting events on its website, take note that it is not streaming tomorrow's fanfare, so hole up in your living room or find a sports bar to catch all the Sochi opening festivities.
Washington State has eight athletes competing for Team USA. Among them: Cross-country skiers (and brother-sister duo) Erik Bjornsen and Sadie Bjornsen, short track speedskater J.R. Celski, whose first documentary film project, The Otherside, on the Seattle hip hop scene, is available for free online streaming during the games , Patrick Deneen, freestyle skiing, Brian Gregg, cross-country skiing, Torin Koos, cross-country skiing, Christian Niccum, luge, and Angeli VanLaanen, freestyle skiing.
The Sochi 2014 site has a super handy (and colorful) chart of all the sporting events so you can plan ahead to watch your local guys and gals compete. We'll keep you updated on how Celski et al are performing. Go Team USA!
