Agave Cocina and Taylor Shellfish Opening (Possibly) This Month In Lower Queen Anne

Lower Queen Anne is getting itself a nice little new food and wine cluster by way of the Expo Building (118 Republican St.), next door to the Seattle Center.

The building houses 275 residential units and 12 retail spaces, including Triumph Bar and Roaring Bowl. Joining the culinary duo very, very soon will be Taylor Shellfish, a casual neighborhood oyster bar with 50 seats inside and an additional 50 outside in the summer, and Agave Cocina, which currently has locations in Issaquah and Redmond.

Interesting notes: Unlike its Melrose Market sibling, this Queen Anne Taylor Shellfish won't have a retail element, but it will keep its bivalve-friendly beer and wine options intact. At Agave, all of the furniture is coming from Mexico that owner Federico Ramos designed and built near his hometown of Guadalajara. Agave will be open daily for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.

Both Agave and Taylor Shellfish are aiming to open by the end of April or early May. Taylor is also readying to open a spot in Pioneer Square, next to Rain Shadow Meats, sometime in July.
