Chocolate Chip Cookie
Mourning the loss of recently closed Madame K’s Pizza Bistro and its skillet deep-dish fresh-from-the-oven chocolate chip cookie? You’ll still find the same indulgent goodness in the Cow Pie at owner Kirsten Burt’s sister restaurant, Lazy K’s Pizza & Pasta in Carnation—where the juxtaposition of hot, chewy cookie and cold vanilla ice cream ($7.50) will elicit a nostalgic smile from even the most discerning foodie. Need a quick cookie fix without the trek? At DeLaurenti Specialty Food & Wine, massive $2 pleasers are the platonic ideal: buttery crisp and golden along the edges, with a soft, yielding chocolate middle.

Bread pudding
There are fewer bread puddings in town more iconic than the warm amaretto bread pudding with rum butter cream ($8) at Boat Street Cafe. But should you desire an alternative, head over to Capitol Hill’s Dinette, where golden raisins soak in Italian liqueur, then languish in between folds of soft, custardy bread before being bathed in caramel sauce and adorned with billows of whipped cream ($8).

Ice Cream Sundae
Magnolia’s charmingly kid-friendly Cocoa & Cream knows what makes a great sundae: generous scoops of ice cream (in this case, Snoqualmie Gourmet), lotsa flavors (20 of ’em!) and an array of toppings. Customize your own sweet treat or choose from one of the house’s creations, such as the good ol’ banana split with vanilla, Mukilteo Mudd and Skagit Valley strawberry ice creams, strawberry sauce, house-made caramel sauce, hot fudge, toasted pecans and whipped cream. In Madrona, comfort-food mecca St. Clouds serves up Olympic Mountain coconut almond ice cream with exquisite, extra-rich, house-made fudge sauce ($4.75).

Pie
The spicy-sweet waft of fresh fruit pies that issue from Magnolia’s Seattle Pie Company is the stuff of dreams. So, too, is the apple crumb
pie. Its surface comes dotted with crunchy, cinnamon-flavored knobs of crumble, while a delicately spiced, sweet apple filling reclines beneath ($3.50/slice, $16.41/whole).
