Want to learn a bit more about making better drinks? Or getting ready for an Italian trip and want to taste up on the country’s wines before departure? Or just wanna have a lot of fun while learning more about cocktails and wine? Check out the following upcoming cocktail-making and wine-drinking classes at Golden Beetle and Agrodolce.

Golden Beetle Cocktail Classes
These classes are taught by Jaime Kitchens, Golden Beetle‘s lead bartender, except the last, which will be co-led by the fine folks from Copperworks Distilling. They’re on Saturdays and run from 2:30 to 4:25 p.m.

January 24, Manhattans & Old Fashioneds
Learn about these two classic cocktails, from history to how to make them to perfection, and more. $50 plus tax.

February 21 & 28, Bitters
This is a two-parter, as people attending will learn all about key cocktail ingredient bitters, including learning how to make Golden Beetle’s house orange bitters and how to use bitters in cocktails, as well as about the history of bitters. It’s $150 plus tax for both dates.

March 21, Distillers Tasting with Copperworks Distillery
Get the inside scoop about Copperworks vodka and gin and about distilling straight from the distiller, while enjoying Golden Beetle’s delicious gin punch and having tasty snacks. $25 plus tax.

Agrodolce Wine Classes
With a slant as you might expect towards Italian wines, these classes are taught by Sommelier Alena Harbin. They’re each an hour and a half, and cost $55 for a single class, or $150 for the series.

January 31, Italian Wine 101
Ideal if you’re heading over for your first trip to bella Italia, this covers everything from reading Italian wine labels to what Italian wines are comparable to other wines like Argentinian Malbec or French Chardonnay.

March 7, Weirdoes of the Wine World
Go worldwide with wines being made in non-mainstream ways, from winemakers who age wine under the sea to ancient Greek style clay amphorae fermented and aged wines, to much more.

March 28, Drink like an Italian
Perhaps my favorite wine class ever–having lived in Italy, I can say that there’s nothing like drinking in an Italian manner! Find out what you might drink for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the times in-between if you were Italian, including amaros, grappas, wine, apertivos and more.
