Happy day after Election Day, Seattle. There’s a 50/50 chance that you’re either elated over last night’s results or absolutely depressed. So let’s get to it:

Kiro Radio’s Rachel Belle takes an in-depth look at Seattle’s pho phenomenon and how the delicious hot Vietnamese soup became such a mainstay here. Now I know what I’m having for lunch.

Recreational marijuana passed last night in Oregon by 54 percent of the vote. What implications does this have for pot sales in Washington state? Seattle Weekly explores.

I-594, the measure to expand background checks on gun sales and transfers, passed last night with 60 percent of the vote. Voters rejected the opposing I-591, which would have prevented the state from expanding background checks beyond what already exists nationally. King 5 has the full rundown on last night’s local election results here.

Have you ever been to SoDo’s Orient Express? It’s hard to miss. I stumbled across the colorful train car bar and restaurant once when I first moved to Seattle and all I can say was that it was an experience. Here, The Stranger makes a pit stop at the Orient to try the drinks and the food and take it all in.

San Francisco-based fitness startup Fitmob launches today in Seattle. Billed as an alternative to the gym, the membership-based company allows users to sign up for an unlimited amount of workouts at several spots in the Seattle area or attend group sessions led by Fitmob trainers in outdoor places like under the Space Needle. “We are a marketplace that connects the consumer with fitness activities in a very convenient way, with an all-you-can-eat pricing model,” ceo and co-founder Raj Kapoor told GeekWire.
