According to a post by user Sporangepeeler on Reddit this morning, a fellow passenger on Metro bus 66 stepped in to prevent a mugging before it started. The situation occured this morning while he was riding the 66 Metro bus with his wife. Metro route 66 runs from the Northgate Transit Center, through the University District and into downtown.

See below for the details on the event:

The target of the attack was thankful and “humbled” that the other passenger stepped up. Sporangepeeler went on to say that he’s never felt unsafe on that route, “particularly at 9:30 in the morning.”

It was just last November that multiple RapidRide passengers stopped an armed robber in West Seattle’s Morgan Junction. That 19-year-old man was later sentenced to 13 1/2 years in jail.
