Don’t arrive late to try Sweet & Savory Bakery’s fantastic egg sandwiches; these ultimate breakfast sandwiches usually sell out within the hour

Cynthia Brock’s petite Sweet & Savory Bakery is cherished by south-enders. And while the classically trained French pastry chef’s tender, buttery croissants are simply wonderful, I find myself craving her fantastic egg sandwiches ($6.25), which she only makes on the weekends. A warm baked egg soufflé is set atop Zoe’s bacon, then topped with peppery arugula, ripe tomato, Gruyère and mayo (or other seasonal ingredients), on a homemade bun. The sandwiches are ready at 11 a.m. sharp, and don’t be late; these ultimate breakfast sandwiches usually sell out within the hour.
