If you haven’t heard, here it is: There’s a new French-Italian restaurant coming to the NW 65th Street corridor, and it is made up of a culinary dream team. Industry veterans Christopher Yamka (Toulouse Petit Kitchen & Lounge, Bastille Cafe & Bar, Local 360) and Camille Yamka (Monsoon, Terra Plata, Roux) have partnered with the owners of Chocolat Vitale to open Joli, a 52-seat neighborhood restaurant (with room for 10 at the bar) in March.

Chef Amy Beaumier (Bell + Whete, Dragonfish Asian Cafe, Local 360) will helm the kitchen, cooking Mediterranean dishes alongside local and French wines. Mains? A sample menu mentions drool-worthy preserved lemon and ricotta cavatelli with guanicale, smoked tomato butter and pecorino as well as steak frites and duck leg confit. Construction and a complete build-out – think open kitchen, exposed architectural details – are currently underway.

The team is concluding its Kickstarter campaign on Jan. 9 with an oyster and Champagne celebration at Chocolat Vitale (6257 3rd Ave NW) from 6 to 9 p.m. Sounds like Beaumier will provide complimentary nibbles, but your cash for the oysters and bubbly will go towards getting Joli to opening day. Joli will be located at 618 NW 65th St at the corner of 7th Ave. Stay tuned for more info as March draws near.
