Marguerite Cocktail
This has been served at parties since at least the early 1900s and makes a lovely addition to a holiday gathering. It also is easy to make in advance (anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days before the party starts).

Serves approximately 10

11 ounces gin (Voyager is nice for this)

11 ounces dry vermouth

8 1/2 ounces Meletti or other anisette

3 1/2 teaspoons Scrappy’s orange bitters

Ice cubes

Maraschino cherries, for garnish

Lemon twists, for garnish

1. Add the gin, vermouth, anisette and orange bitters to a large pitcher. Stir until well combined. Using a funnel, pour the mix into flip-top bottles or other bottles with good seals. Store the bottles out of the sun.

2. When ready to serve, give the bottles a quick shake to make sure all ingredients are well combined.

3. Fill a number of rocks glasses with ice cubes. Add a cherry to each glass. Pour the mix equally into the glasses and over the cherries. Twist a lemon twist over each glass and drop the twists into the glasses.

Ti Penso Sempre
This name means “I think of you always.” A perfect sentiment, I believe, for holiday soirées with people you adore but don’t see often. This also looks like quite a treat when made in advance and stored in bottles.

5 ounces simple syrup

Ice cubes

Orange slices, for garnish

1. Add the brandy, Aperol and simple syrup to a large pitcher. Stir until well combined. Using a funnel, pour the mix into flip-top bottles or other bottles with good seals. Store the bottles in the fridge.

2. When ready to serve, give the bottles a quick shake to make sure all ingredients are well combined.

3. Fill a number of rocks glasses with ice cubes. Pour the mix equally into the glasses. Garnish each with an orange slice.
