Yogi Beer: Vancouver, B.C.-based yoga and athleticwear retailer Lululemon has announced it will be releasing its own line of beer. According to CBC, the beer, made by Stanley Park Brewing, is called “Curiosity Lager” and will be released on August 15 in Vancouver, B.C. Time magazine states that the cans will be “printed with a geometric array of Pacific Northwest motifs: a totem pole, a suspension bridge, evergreen trees, mountains, and water.” At 4.6 percent alcohol, I won’t be racing across the border for it, but my curiosity is definitely piqued.

New Nirvana: If you haven’t seen Maggie Poukkula’s recently tweeted never-before-seen Nirvana photographs, you can look at them here. The Seattle PI states that the photos are from a show Maggie’s dad, Tony Poukkula, played with Kurt Cobain in 1987. The show, performed in Poukkula’s basement in Raymond, Wash., is thought be Nirvana’s first ever concert. In just the past week, Maggie has already been interviewed by Rolling Stone and MTV News. Wondering what her dad is up to these days? He’s still being super cool and rocking out with his Seattle band Laytem.

Safety Concerns: CBS Sports reports that Earl Thomas, the Seahawks’ free safety, will not be ready for training camp and likely won’t play in the first game of the season against the St. Louis Rams on September 13. The delay is due to Thomas’s torn labrum that he had surgically repaired in February. Of course, there’s a chance that the absence of Thomas for a game or two won’t have any effect on the Seahawks’ overall record. But this SB Nation article entitled “Earl Thomas is Everything to the Seahawks” might suggest otherwise.

Caffeine Boost: Puget Sound Business Journal states that Starbucks made $4.9 billion in revenue this past quarter, which is 18 percent more than what they made this time last year. Profits also increased about 22 percent, to $938 million. Starbucks took control of its Japanese stores this year and also added 431 new stores, so those moves could have something to do with its rising revenues. As of December 2014, Starbucks reported that it had 21,878 total stores. Not all 21,878 of those stores are in Seattle.
