Bullitt Center Officially the Greenest. The Bullitt Center set out with the vision to promote urban sustainability in Cascadia–our regional corner in the Northwest United States and Southwest Canada. And according to Curbed Seattle, it has officially achieved such status. Certification by the Living Building Challenge has deemed The Bullitt Center “the worlds greenest commercial building,” which is the first office building in the world to win this certification. Last year, The Bullitt Center generated 60 percent more energy than it used, and its tenants paid nothing for electricity. Bravo, Bullitt.

More Money, More Startups. As if our startup culture could not thrive more, yesterday The Puget Sound Business Journal announced the Founders Co-op–which has backed some of Seattle’s leading startups–raised a $20 million dollar fund for companies in their early stages. The investment fund is eight times larger than it was eight years ago, and will go to exclusively funding Pacific Northwest-based companies in their seed-level-funding stages.

701 Coffee, 23rd Street Community. In a city amid coffee shops, finding ones with community is tougher than finding the coffee itself. Though the Capitol Hill Blog reports that’s what Sara and Rachel Brereton hope to change with 701 Coffee, a newly opened coffee house on the corner of 23rd and Cherry in The Central District. Set in a busy intersection near Garfield High School and the community center, 701 Coffee hopes to bring new life–and a community hub–to this corner of the Central District.

New Cellar to SoDo. Elsom Cellars–previously located in Woodinville–opened doors to its new SoDo space yesterday. Located at 2960 4th Ave S, the new wine-meets-adventure space will feature adventure travel presentations, live music, and other special events — all while sipping vino, Eater Seattle said. The new Adventure Hub and Winery is a place where people can come to plan trips, and drink wine from Winemaker Jody Elsom. Head here for more information on grand opening weekend events. And keep your eyes here at seattlemag.com in the coming days for more on this new SoDo vino spot.
