(3/5, 8 p.m.) Taking inspiration from the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, the 20th anniversary of the abolishment of the South African apartheid and the 1960 civil rights record We Insist! Max Roach’s Freedom Now Suite, Abraham creates dance that bristles with history—and towering bouffants.

Saturday (3/7, 5 p.m.) More than 100 bourbons and rye whiskeys will be on display and ready to sample at this spirited soiree held at Daniel’s Broiler. Your ticket earns you tastings aplenty, a commemorative tasting glass and a slew of appetizers so you’re never running on empty.
