Jazz Intoxication Re-creates First Jazz Show in Washington

Friday (6/10, 7 p.m.) To celebrate the opening of the newly renovated Washington Hall, this special event will re-create the first documented jazz show in the state, held at the hall 98 years ago on the same date. Musical direction by D’Vonne Lewis and Evan Flory-Barnes.

Misty Isle Farms Hosts Annual Vashon Sheepdog Classic

(6/9 to 6/12, times vary) Pack up the picnic blanket and sail over to Vashon Island for the seventh annual Sheepdog Classic, in which you’ll bear witness to four days worth of the competitive sport of sheepdog trials, a.k.a. dogs herding sheep around fields and enclosures via a handler’s directions. Expect bagpipes, sheep shearing demos and more.

SAM Presents Graphic Masters

(6/9 to 8/28, times vary) Graphic Masters features groundbreaking and timeless artists who worked in the medium of printmaking over its 500-year history, including a masterwork by Robert Crumb, one of the seminal graphic artists of our time. With more than 400 works included, it will be the Seattle Art Museum’s first large-scale exhibition devoted to the graphic arts.
