Tiptoe through the treetops at B.C.’s new Wildplay Element Park

Where:
WildPlay Element Park in Victoria, B.C.

Why:
Founded by two climbers, the new park, seven miles from downtown (1767 Island Highway, Bldg. #15 250.590.7529 wildplay.com/victoria $20–$40), lets you strap on a harness and test your balance with a series of treetop obstacle courses. Kids’ courses provide fun for the under-13 set, while the full course challenges participants to progress through varying levels of difficulty.

Make it a weekend: The Spark Festival presents full-length productions and 10-minute mini-plays, artist workshops and readings March 9–21 at the Belfry Theatre (1291 Gladstone Ave. 250.385.6815 belfry.bc.ca $10–$20).

Stay: The Parkside Victoria: You can book a radiance renewal facial ($50), maple sugar scrub ($55) or aromatherapy massage ($105) at the newly opened AquaTerre Spa (810 Humboldt St. 866.941.4175 parksidevictoria.com).

Getting There: Take the Victoria Clipper (clippervacations.com) from downtown Seattle. If you’re carless in Victoria, buses from downtown (50, 52, 53, 54, 61) will take you to the park—get off at the Western Exchange stop in Colwood.
