Shopping Insurance

By Seattle Mag October 8, 2014

It’s getting close to open enrollment time for the Washington Health Benefit Exchange—beginning November 15 through February 15—so now is the time to research those health plans. This year, the Washington Health Benefit Exchange has expanded coverage options, with the Exchange board approving 10 new insurance plans, bringing the total number of individual and family plans to 82. Some of the new companies added to the network include dental insurance carriers, such as Delta Dental and Group Health Cooperative’s new dental coverage.

In addition, this is the first year small business plans will be available through the Exchange, under Washington Healthplanfinder Business, after a delay that allowed insurance carriers more time to prepare plans for businesses.
