7/19 • A veritable world tour of ethnically and stylistically diverse dance performances, ranging from Asian cultural dances to tap, the 10th annual DANCE This… has one foot, so to speak, in tradition and the other in innovation. The all-teen, all local roster of performers, including Apna Bhangra Crew, Seattle Chinese Girls Drill Team and Vela Luka Croation Dance Ensemble, makes an inspiring statement about the next generation of dancers—and their willingness to embrace a form of communication that bridges cultures via visceral aesthetics.
