It’s big news when one of Seattle’s most family-friendly pizzerias–and our pick for one of the best kid-friendly happy hours in town–introduces a new member of its own family: D’Asporto, its first mobile pizza truck. Tutta Bella’s retrofitted shipping container is outfitted with an Acunto wood-fired oven straight from Napoli, Italy. In Neapolitan tradition, the restaurant owners will have the D’Asporto blessed by a Catholic priest.

Look for Tutta Bella’s pizza truck this summer at the following events:

South Lake Union Block Party on Friday, Aug. 12

Rainier Chamber Heritage Day Parade and Festival on Saturday, Aug. 13

San Gennaro Festival on Sept. 9-11 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday)

Festa Italiana Seattle – Saturday and Sunday Sept. 24-25

Also, fig season is approaching, which means one of our favorite and most piggy pizzas is about to make its short, annual appearance: Tutta Bella’s Calabrese fig pizza, available between Aug. 8 and Sept. 4 only. It’s a Southern Italian legacy: extra-virgin olive oil base topped with a dusting of fresh rosemary and prosciutto di Parma, followed by slivers of black mission figs and creamy, savory chevre. Finally, after 90 seconds in a 900-degree oven, executive chef Brian Gojdics hits the pie with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar reduction. It is sure to press all of your buttons. Lastly, Tutta Bella is adding four new Southern Italian pasta dishes to the summer lineup including spaghetti alle vongole (made with clams) and bucatini con polpette (made with Neapolitan meatballs).

Fyi, Tutta Bella has five locations in the Seattle area: South Lake Union, Columbia City, Wallingford, Bellevue and Issaquah.
