The jolly fall action from our local spirit, liqueur and cider producers continues through October, with tasty items for all in the below list. Keep your eyes open – you never know when and where the next good drink is going to show up.

Westland Peat Week, October 12-17: Get ready whiskey lovers, the second annual Peat Week is about to kick off at Westland Distillery. There will be special tours, tastings of limited-time and rare single malt whiskey bottlings, and three specific great events: an Opening Dinner at the Distillery Cask Room, with food from Miller’s Guild’s Jason Wilson, a cocktail competition at the Coterie Room with peated hors d’oeuvres, and a special peated Closing Party on the 17 (with barbecue from Radiator Whiskey), where they’ll release the final bottling of the Peat Week Single Cask whiskey. There are tickets for individual events, as well a number of limited-time discounted VIP passes – these will go quick, though, so don’t wait too long before picking one up!

Bluewater Distillery New Fall Menu and Yoga: The fairly new restaurant and bar at the Bluewater Distillery on the Port of Everett has recently unleashed its even newer fall menus, highlighted by local grass-fed beef and pastured pork from Custer, Washington’s, Burk Ridge Farms, and including a coffee and juniper crusted bone-in pork chop and slow-braised short ribs. The cocktail menu has also been updated, and is highlighted by a Maritime Mule with raw cranberry juice and Bluewater’s own organic vodka. Also, don’t miss its Yogamosa, a yoga class at the distillery, on select Saturdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. – class attendees get a cocktail after they’re done.

2bar Whiskey Club Is On: It’s now possible to get SoDo’s 2bar Spirits sent directly to your home, thanks to its new Whiskey Club. Available in many states, club members get premier access to new bourbon releases, plus access to exclusive, one-time whiskeys, including rye, corn and single malt whiskeys that always go fast, and which will be available to club members before the public. There are two memberships available, a Quarterly Membership with four bottles a year, 10 percent off every purchase made in the tasting room or online, and more, and a Monthly with 12 bottles a year, 10 percent off, exclusive t-shirts and glasses, and much more.

New Tieton Cider Works Fall Releases: Okay, these new ciders actually came out a wee bit ago, but they’re so ideal for fall, you won’t want to miss them. First up is Tieton’s third release of Smoked Pumpkin Cider, which uses a natural pumpkin sediment (only used by Tieton), to deliver a rich, memorable flavor that isn’t brought into cloying territory like artificially flavored numbers. It’s only available for a limited time. But its new Spice Route Cider (also part of the fall release) is going to be a more permanent part of the family. It has a layered spiced flavor, with cinnamon, vanilla, clove, allspice and apple pie in the mix, all of which make it a great chillier weather cider.
