This article originally appeared in the October 2014 issue of Seattle Magazine.

From Pegasus to pirate, wicked witch to prismatic parrot, lightly loved costumes from local children’s consignment shops deliver fright night fun—and at pretty wicked prices, too.

In the photo above–From left: James, 1, wearing a multicolored parrot costume, also from Hopscotch Consignment Boutique (Bellevue, 136 105th Ave. NE; 425.462.4751; hopscotchconsign.com); Avery, 11, in a floor-length witch’s dress from Cruzin Kidz (Woodinville, 13336 NE 175th St.; 425.939.0418), plus a pleather hat from Again & A Gain (West Seattle, 4832 California Ave. SW; 206.933.2060); Vince, 7, dressed in a pirate king ensemble from Cruzin Kidz; Ruby, 7, in a winged Pegasus costume from Value Village (for locations, visit valuevillage.com); Max, 4, sporting a full-body dinosaur costume from Hopscotch Consignment.

We couldn’t get enough and captured some more darling and “scary” costume photos below.
