Ready for a weekend full of tricks, treats, haunts and howls? (We’ve been ready since October 1.)

To celebrate the spookiest day of the year, several spots around town are creaking open their doors this weekend and offering some eye-popping specials on drinks, eats and sweets. A mini-astrology reading and a carved pumpkin altar, you say? Oh yes. Read on.

Ivar’s Salmon House and Ivar’s Mukilteo Landing
The iconic Seattle seafood restaurant is going all out with four cocktails that will truly get you in the Halloween spirit.

From now through Saturday, October 31, swing by the Salmon House on North Lake Union or the location at the Mukilteo Landing for one of these creepy-sounding potions: The Pina Ghoulada, with a lychee fruit and blueberry bloody “eyeball” garnish (also available sans alcohol); a Jack O’Lantern with Bacardi O rum, orange and pineapple juices, grenadine, a float of Myers Rum and an orange slice and lime topper that resembles a pumpkin top (also available sans alcohol); a Blood-Orange Margarita with blood-orange puree; and the Peaches and Scream, made with sparkling wine and peach puree.

Juicebox
Capitol Hill’s organic vegetable cafe and juice bar is throwing an all-day, Halloween-themed brunch bash on Saturday, October 31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Expect kookiness galore, including smoking cauldrons, black juice potions (made with activated charcoal, cucumber and lemon), free beet juice shots to costume-wearing customers, a carved-pumpkin altar and mini-astrology readings (11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., $30) from Planetary Apothecary‘s Stephanie Gailing. To reserve your 15-minute astrology reading, email stephanie@planetapothecary.com, though walk-in options could be available, too.

Mighty-O Donuts
Huzzah! The vegan and organic donut shop is coming to Capitol Hill in the former High 5 Pie space at the corner of 12th and Madison. Celebrate its sweet arrival during a superhero-themed grand opening event on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pay a visit in your finest superhero costume for a chance to win free donuts for a year. Mighty-O will also serve gratis mini-donuts during the opening festivities. The Capitol Hill location is the company’s third. Back in July, Seattle mag food editor Jessica Yadegaran reported that Mighty-O had signed a lease in Ballard for a 2,500-square-foot cafe and exhibition bakery, which opened in August.
