Fashion & Style Friday: Swinging by Assemble
Assemble Gallery & Studio is a gallery, workspace and retail store all rolled into one (we’ve been big fans since they opened last fall—check out our story on the unique space here). The store offers everything from handcrafted stationery to books, but on a recent visit I learned that Assemble is also on the cutting edge for fashion—literally. Classes (which take place right in the cute and light filled store) range from basic sewing to crocheting earrings and other one-of-a-kind fashion items. Next month’s class schedule includes a quilting t-shirt class, in which students repurpose old shirts into something new and stylish. In this economy, who doesn't love the idea of taking the shirt off your own back while keeping some cash in your pocket? Assemble also features ready-made accessories such as cross-stitch buttons ($18) and necklaces ($32) by Handstitched. Drop in this weekend and save 25% storewide when you mention the secret word: “muffins.”
