Spring is Here, So Till the Earth
Seattle Tilth, a nationally recognized non-profit dedicated to inspiring and educating people to garden organically and conserve natural resources, has a full slate of informative hands-on workshops coming up this week and next for those ready to dive right into some serious spring gardening. Among the offerings, Growing Perennial Edibles (March 25, 7-9 p.m.), Grow Great Garden Soil (March 27, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.), Lawns to Lettuce (March 27, 10-11 a.m.), City Chickens 101 (March 27, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.), Season Extension: Cold Frames, Cloches, Mulch and More (March 27, 12-2 p.m.), City Goats 101 (12:30-4 p.m.), and the list goes on. Most of the workshops ($30 for Tilth members, $40 for non-members; tickets available via Brown Paper Tickets) take place at Seattle Tilth's headquarters and demonstration gardens behind the Good Shepherd Center in Wallingford, while a few are at other locations.
