Tod Leiweke Leaving Seattle for NHL Job

Tod Leiweke is leaving the Seattle Seahawks and Sounders for an ownership post with the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League.

Leiweke's resignation as CEO of Paul Allen's Vulcan Sports and Entertainment was announced Monday, but he will stay with Vulcan until his successor is hired.

Leiweke (pronounced lye-WIK-ee), was a member of Seattle magazine's 2009 Most Influential list. He joined Vulcan in 2003 and has helped make the Seahawks of the National Football League, Seattle Sounders FC of Major League Soccer and the Portland Trail Blazers among the most popular franchises in professional sports.
