Outdoors: Indulge Your Green Thumb
If you are into tilling your backyard flower or vegetable patch, you definitely don't want to miss the Northwest Flower & Garden Show at the Washington State Convention Center in downtown Seattle beginning Wednesday February 3 and running through the weekend. Some two dozen different display gardens from different landscape firms, non-profits and professional organizations showcase a wide variety of planting selections and landscaping styles. Weekend gardeners are sure to glean some ideas for their own backyards from perusing the displays--and can get lots of free expert advice from vendors along the way. The show is open Wednesday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. A half-day ticket (for admission after 3 p.m.) is $10, and kids under 12 get in free.
