The rhetorical question is top of mind this week as the new exhibit titled with that same phrase opened at the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience this past Saturday. We all know Bruce Lee as one of the most influential martial artists of his time and if you're into Kung Fu movies, The Way of the Dragon is probably a favorite.

Last Christmas, as our family was gathered to open presents, my fiancé reached under the couch cushion he was sitting on and pulled out a handgun. It wasn’t loaded. And he had only good intentions. The gun was a gift from his stepdad and two older brothers—cleverly hidden under his own seat for him to discover. But I, suddenly, couldn’t breathe.

GeekGirlCon hits the Washington State Convention Center this weekend, October 11-12. On the fall ballot, Washington residents will be asked to vote on two opposing gun control initiatives—one calling for expanded background checks, the other keeping the current system of background checks in place. These are two of only three statewide gun control measures on November ballots anywhere in the country.

We've seen the bike share docking stations going up around the city--there's one just a hop, skip and a jump away from our offices, on 3rd Avenue and Pike street. (Go here to view the entire set of docking stations on a map.) Pronto Cycle Share, the Puget Sound region's very first bike share program, officially takes its inaugural trek on Monday, October 13.

It may sound incredibly far off in the future (hey, we work three months in advance!), but we're looking for one sweet, photogenic and way cool pet to feature on the cover of our February 2015 issue, which will dive into all things pets. Our contest is open to all kinds of cherished creatures, so that includes cats, dogs, ferrets, turtles, tarantulas, iguanas, teacup pigs, or basically any other pet that is able to attend a photo shoot.
