This is a first for me (and perhaps the city): Belltown consignment store Sell Your Sole has just announced a new app, out next week, that allows users a birds eye view into the inventory of the store. With it, shoppers can see what’s available to purchase, and if they’re consignors, see what of theirs has sold and for how much, as well as their month-to-date sales numbers.

American Express and Delta Air Lines have curated a holiday pop-up, opening on Tuesday, November 26 at Alki Arts Gallery at the Harbor Steps. It’s running through Monday, December 23 and includes gifts from local designers and stores for your shopping pleasure. Artisanal. Handcrafted. Small batch. While we may roll our eyes at the current worship of these buzzwords, there’s no denying that they signify products made with different priorities than those of giant companies. The Pacific Northwest is a bastion of such quirky innovations—so much so that it can be hard to keep track of all the small and wonderful things made here. Enter MakrBox, a new CSA-style monthly subscription service that, instead of fresh veggies from local farms, delivers a box of independent products made by locally based craftspeople.

Skoah is a Vancouver, BC-based spa, with a focus on facials only, that offers a different take on skincare: personal fitness or a gym membership concept. While you can get just a one-off facial there (and by there, I mean Bellevue, downtown Seattle or the soon-to-open, Cap Hill location), what Skoah does best is maintenance. You get a personal consultant who manages and tweaks your skin workout, with a laser-like dedication to helping you look your best.

I cover Carole McClellan often because I really think she’s one of Seattle’s best designers and I totally love her rock and roll style. So, when there’s a chance to share her with my audience, I try to do just that.
