It’s Monday, which means the majority of us are likely (still) in wanderlust mode.  I happen to be at Sea-Tac Airport as I write this—heading to Walla Walla to work on a piece for our October issue, which brings me to the crux of this breezy Monday blog post sponsored by bubbly.

99 Park opening in Bellevue this summer
An independently owned restaurant is coming to town, and I’m not talking Seattle for once.  Located just off Bellevue Downtown Park, the aptly named 99 Park will be a sleek and sexy little spot when it opens sometime this summer (best case scenario, mid-July). It’s owned and operated by former real estate developer Micha Pittman, who is a Bellevue resident himself. Here are 10 things to know:

Father's Day is fast approaching (it's Sunday, fyi), and while brunches seem to be reserved for moms for whatever reason, dad will still feel the love with these special menus.

Tom Douglas is planning to open a cantina/taqueria this fall because, why not? Tentatively called The Lone Stranger, it'll be located near the pod that houses all of his other restaurants in Belltown (Lola, Palace Kitchen, Dahlia Lounge, Serious Pie, Tanakasan) in The Martin building on Fifth and Lenora.  I sat down with Douglas to learn more about this new concept he’s launching. Here are 10 things to know:

Brimmer & Heeltap interview with Jen Doak Mike Whisenhunt
One of the restaurants I review for the June issue is Brimmer & Heeltap. I’ve known proprietress Jen Doak for years, back when she managed The Tasting Room in Post Alley. It’s been fun to watch her career grow.

Sitka & Spruce's Álvaro Candela new chef at The Saint
Taco lovers, listen up. Two words why you need to get to The Saint as soon as possible: Álvaro Candela. He's the guy behind the wildly popular Monday taco nights at Matt Dillon's Sitka & Spruce that ended last month when Candela accepted the job as executive chef at Capitol Hill's "tequila salvation" on the corner of Olive and Howell.
