Seattle Farmers Market Schedule: When Does Your Local Get Going?
I'm a south-ender who can't wait for next Wednesday, when my local Columbia City farmers market opens (3-7 p.m.). Most of the neighborhood markets open in May or early June; here's the line-up.
North-enders can shop the Wallingford market (Wed., 3-7 p.m.) beginning May 20th; the Magnolia market (Sat., 10 a.m.-2 p.m.) beginning June 18th; the Phinney Ridge market (Fri., 3-7 p.m.) beginning June 3rd; the terrific Lake City market (Thu., 3-7 p.m.) beginning June 2nd; and the Queen Anne market (Thu., 3-7:30 p.m.) which debuts June 2nd .
Those who live in central Seattle can return to the Broadway market (Sun., 11 a.m.-3 p.m.) on May 8th in its new location at Seattle Central Community College, or drop by the Madison/Madrona market (Fri., 3-7 p.m.), which debuts May 20th.
But those who can't wait can make the trip south on Rainier for the Columbia City market (Wed., 3-7p.m.) beginning next Wednesday, April 27th, and don't miss a visit to the Georgetown Saturday market (home of my favorite farmers market vendor, the Ebelskiver Lady! 10am-3pm) beginning May 21st.
For those living farther south, there's a great market in downtown Renton (Tue., 3-7 p.m.) which starts June 7th, and the Burien market (Thu., 11am-6pm) which begins on May 5th.
Of course, the year-round markets—West Seattle (Sun., 10 a.m.-2 p.m.), University District (Sat., 9 a.m.-2 p.m.) and Ballard (Sun., 10 a.m.-3 p.m.)—continue throughout spring and summer.
