Our inaugural Red, White & Brew was a sunny success! With the Olympic Sculpture Park and 80 degree sunshine as our backdrop, more than 450 guests (including a fleet of brave navy sailors) came, saw and sipped the night away. There were plenty of reds, whites and brews to be had--17 Washington wine award-winners and six local breweries poured their famed varietals while Taste Events, Sartori Cheese, Oil & Vinegar and Belle Epicurean offered savory salumi and cheese and delectable desserts.

Here I sit on the veranda at Glacier Park Lodge, watching the ever restless clouds dance along the spires and humps of Glacier National Park, the whole scene lit by the warm rays of the late afternoon “golden hour.” I can relate to those fast-moving clouds; in fact I feel like one of them as my two kids and I are in the middle of a 1,500 mile “school’s out” odyssey-by-van from Seattle into the wilds of Montana.
