I have never had a blog before. To be honest, I've never had time for a blog before. I still don't have time, but this is the era of tweets, posts, blurgs, blips and blops (whatever) so here I am, boldly going where this woman has not gone before, ready to clear the smoke and shatter the mirrors we working moms have carefully staged to make it seem like We Can Do It All. Do you love the honkin', melty, drippy, delicious sandwiches at Georgetown's biker bar, Smarty Pants? Um, me neither (except for the Pit Boss: ham, swiss, bacon and pepperoncinis, and about four other sandwiches, but other than that...)

Seattlemag.com intern Jaquel Moore headed to the race. Here's his report.  Yesterday the annual Emerald Downs Weiner Dog qualifying race had the fanfare of a classic horse race, minus the Mint Juleps and ladies in fancy hats. It was a blistering 80 degrees during the late morning at Seattle Center, spectators lined the plush green race track, cheering for their favorite pooch as a bugler performed Elvis' K-9 classic, "Hound Dog".
