Bell + Whete opening in Belltown summer 2014
The team behind Local 360 is opening another restaurant in Belltown this summer called Bell + Whete (“wheat”). It’s going into the ground floor of the 206 Bell Apartments, near the corner of 2nd and Bell, sometime this summer (July is the goal). Ah, spring!  It’s the beautiful time of year when winter-logged Seattleites emerge blinking into the light and commence celebrating the foreign feel of sunshine. I recently unearthed a print of a French cartoon that my husband bought on a Paris street years ago.  It was sitting in a tube in my old pantry. Some combination of inconvenience, expense and inertia kept me from framing these pieces. I’ve since learned I am not alone—maybe as many as 41 percent of households in the U.S. have art that needs to be framed.

At long last, Ethan Stowell’s new fish and chips joint, Chippy’s, is open for business on Ballard Avenue. It’s located directly next door to his other restaurant, Staple & Fancy, in the former Dutch Bike Co. space inside the Kolstrand Building (also home to Walrus and the Carpenter and Barnacle).
