!–paging_filter–pspanIt’s been said that summer’s not over until the last bottle of rose is drained. So, the recent arrival of a special pink wine benefiting the a href=”http://\/\/seattlemag.com/blog/%5Buser-raw%5D/seattle-farmers-market-calenda…” target=”_blank”Queen Anne Farmers Market/a makes sipping for a great cause even sweeter./span/p
pNelson Daquip, the award-winning sommelier at a href=”http://\/\/seattlemag.com/canlis” target=”_blank”Canlis/a, helped drive this tasty fund-raising project for the independent market on Crockett Street and Queen Anne Avenue that runs from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays until Oct. 31. His tasting notes describe the wine as “lively and refreshing with notes of Rainier cherries, fresh strawberries and wild raspberries and a touch of white pepper, finishing crisp and clean.”/p
pTaste it yourself today (Sept. 12) from 3 to 7 p.m. at Charley + May, 2225 Queen Anne Ave./p
pIt’s available for $14 a pop at a href=”http://mccarthyandschiering.com/“McCarthy Schiering Wine Merchants/a on McGraw Street, a short stroll from the market. So, you can pick up ingredients for din din from the 50, or so, farmers, ranchers, bakers and cheese makers at the market before heading over to purchase that feel-good bottle of commemorative wine. It’s also being poured by the glass at Canlis and at Lloyd Martin while supplies last./p
pLet’s not drink this gem too quickly. We want summer to last just a little bit longer./p
