Creativity Meets Craft Cocktails at This Hip Capitol Hill Event Space

Brainchild of KT Niehoff, a world-renowned choreographer, 10 degrees was primarily designed to house her passion for dance. Serving as an arts incubator space, it’s a place for creative professionals to develop new dance-dominant bodies of work. Realizing its additional potential, with a prime location in the heart of Capitol Hill and a surprisingly large outdoor deck, Niehoff began utilizing 10 degrees as a private event space.

Combining forces, Niehoff and her husband Kirby Kallas-Lewis, an artisan distiller, provide clients the option of expanding the space to the industrial OOLA distillery next door, with Kirby hosting parties in OOLA’s barrel room and designing featured cocktail menus. Events and cocktails are crafted by a staff of artists who work with 10 degrees in tandem with their creative practice. Kallas-Lewis, a formal tribal art dealer, points out, “Part of the reason we put the distillery in a dense urban setting was about building community.” Bringing together the businesses and passions of Niehoff and Kallas-Lewis furthers that initiative.

Maintaining its original purpose, 10 degrees is still available to artists and KT continues to use the space to develop new work, such as her recent show, Before We Flew Like Birds, We Flew Like Clouds at 12^th Avenue Arts.

Over the last four years, 10 degrees has hosted an increasing number of private events and is committed to a client-centered approach to sales and event planning. They will provide as much planning support as needed and feature a selection of party packages, allowing you to host a grand party with little effort.

OOLA leads weekly tours of its production facility, including a guided tasting of the product line. OOLA’s sales room is open five days a week for tasting and shopping. Events at 10 degrees can book a private distillery tour and a tasting of OOLA’s whiskey, vodka, and gin. Cheers!
