Imagine you have to spend a night locked inside a mall à la one of those campy ’80s movies. Which mall do you pick? I’d choose Westfield Southcenter, if for no other reason than its excellent food options, from dumplings at Din Tai Fung to dessert at newcomer From Milk.

This stand, across from Macy’s, sells a dozen kinds of handmade sorbet and gelato pops dunked or drizzled in chocolate and piled with toppings—a hot New York City trend that From Milk (and a few other places around town) has adopted for local audiences.

When it comes to dessert, my motto is “Go big.” So, get the mango snow milk ($8.50)—it’s like a snow cone sundae with chunks of mango, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate-dipped strawberries and the most excellent kiwi sorbet pop in the center, and bring a few friends to share it with.

Tukwila, 504 Westfield Southcenter mall.
