A serious barbecue showdown comes to Seattle this weekend.

Touring barbecue competition Lamb Jam is a summertime combo of tasting and a BBQ pitmaster showdown between area chefs. Sunday’s soiree at the WithinSo event space (2-5 p.m., $75) features Chan’s Heong Soon Park, Revel’s Rachel Yang, Jack Timmons of Jack’s BBQ and other top locals creating lamb-centric bites focusing on regional tastes and global BBQ influences. They’ll compete for the distinction of best lamb dish, with the victor heading to the finale to battle other city winners for the Lamb Jam Pitmaster crown.

Attendees get to help pick the winner and enjoy delicious BBQ lamb dishes from the chefs, watch butcher demos and meet local shepherds while supporting the event’s charity partner, the University District Food Bank.

But that’s nowhere near the full story—the event also includes live music, local breweries and wineries, along with drinks made by Perfect Pour containing spirits from Gig Harbor’s Heritage Distilling Co. While surely the lamb will be cooked to perfection, the cocktail menu is looking delectable: a grapefruit/rosemary radler with beer from Seattle’s Ghostfish and Heritage gin; an intriguing New York Sour riff with a red wine foam, passionfruit, lemon and Heritage’s rye whiskey; and a barbecue-ready mesquite-smoked Heritage Brown Sugar Bourbon Old Fashioned.

If you didn’t know, Perfect Pour is a craft cocktail catering company bringing delicious, classically-inspired drinks made by hand to events, along with a physical bar if desired. They use fresh and handmade ingredients in the way you’d find at top bars, too. As a bonus, Perfect Pour lead bartender Ross Steidel has the bow ties and mustache you’d expect from a Prohibition-era shaker.
